Over summer my family and I went on an Alaskan cruise with my grandmother. I also got the opportunity to go to my dream school in Hyde Park, New York and live a day in the life as a student. I also had my last Marching Band camp as a high school student. In this class I'm most looking forward to the JPL competition and working with my group. In general I'm looking forward to graduating the most

When completing the research project I learned that even though something may work, there is always a chance to make it better, I think that can help in the JPL project because we could probably get a faster time. I think our project is going well because we have a definite idea of what we want to do and we've prototyped the end of it, I think it just brings it all together to see if the consistency holds up. I think a problem we could face is us putting our trust into a 3D printer to build our parts, while it is unique, nothing is guaranteed that itll work every time. Something happening in my life is that about 2 weeks ago I got accepted into the school of my dreams so now I don't have to worry about college apps and get to look forward to going to culinary school in a year.

In the article from NASA about how the Boeing starliner passed it safety test, i learned both the purpose of the test and that this was a milestone safety test in order reach the launch date of Dec. 17.

The task of the engineers was to make it possible fro the craft to be able to get any passengers to safety in case of an emergency prior to launch. According the NASA, the test went something like this "A pitcharound maneuver rotated the spacecraft into position for landing as it neared its peak altitude of approximately 4,500 feet. Two of three Starliner’s main parachutes deployed just under half a minute into the test, and the service module separated from the crew module a few seconds later. Although designed with three parachutes, two opening successfully is acceptable for the test parameters and crew safety. After one minute, the heat shield was released and airbags inflated, and the Starliner eased to the ground beneath its parachutes."

This project can relate to my JPL group because while our task isn't as important, we had to take one idea and try many different things in order to perfect it and get the ping pong balls into the jar with the smallest time possible. Like the NASA engineers they had take the overall idea, which was getting travelers to safety in the fastest time possible.

Projects like this, help to show us that NASA is making progress in space travel when it comes to transporting passengers. This could eventually lead to planet to planet travel in the future. If the spacecraft isn't safe for passengers, the new world discoveries, while useful aren't as meaningful.

I was lucky, the school I applied to had a very easy process and very high acceptance, and I was accepted very early so I didn't have to worry about many other applications. Something I wish I knew is that, test scores and essays don't mean everything, colleges are looking for someone unique, someone true to themself...test scores helps too. I'm most excited about being able to go to a school that lets me live my dream in the future

Second Semester of Senior Year - The part I’m most excited about for senior year, aside from graduation is probably grad night or prom. Grad night because I get to celebrate 4 years of school with my best friends or prom because again I get to celebrate with my friends, have fun for a night in a hotel. Some obstacles my group may face for the capstone project is our idea is focused on mainly one interest, which is artists. While there are many artists, not all use pastels and not all pastels have the same dust. So while our problem is justified, it may not be if interest to multiple people.
Capstone Project - Products that are made for profit don’t always have a good use, sometimes they are made only to appeal to the customer because the are fun and interesting. Products that are made to benefit others don't have the main focus of how much profit they made because they rely on the fact that their product is going to sell to the people it mainly benefits. One of the biggest examples of product made for profit is Apple’s Iphone. This product not only represents an outsized share of their company's revenue, but they also have tremendous profit margins that serve as the foundation of the company's profitability. A product that is made to be if it others usually takes it profit and gives it to a good cause, their product is usually focused on one group of people instead of everyone.

So far, since we are still early in the process, the biggest challenge has been finding a problem that has affected enough people to actually be a credible problem while still having a chance to being solved. I am most proud of the fact that we have been able to figure out the true problem when it comes to using pastels, going off such little information. It is important to get other ideas from other sources to see and compare them to you're ideas. This helps to see if you're going on the right track or if you need to switch up your thinking process

At this point in time, I plan to major in culinary arts. I will get an associates degree in culinary arts, then continue on to get a bachelors degree in hospitality in management. I want to study this because I have always had a passion for cooking, in the future i hope to be a private chef or to open a catering business with my father.
